Planet Magnon
Animated film based on the novel by Leif Randt
Luis August Krawen / Münchner Kammerspiele [Germany]
Animated film
90 minutes
A solar system in which the end of history has already been surpassed: people allow themselves to be governed by the artificial intelligence »ActualSanity«, which keeps the planetary community in a harmonious ideal state. Political procedures no longer seem to be necessary in this AI-driven, totalitarian cozy government; instead, collectives distinguish themselves from one another solely through subtle differences in habitus. Unexpectedly, the collective of broken hearts shakes the solar system with terrorist attacks. Suddenly, Marten Eliot and Emma Glendale, two of the Dolfin Collective's top young fellows, are caught up in an adventure spanning the vastness of their galaxy.
Luis August Krawen and the ensemble of the Münchner Kammerspiele transform Leif Rand's bizarrely utopian science fiction novel into a visually dazzling animated film, creating images to capture the atmospheric density of the novel.
The film will be shown as a loop installation with a making off in the 3rd gallery foyer.
On Friday, March 21, the film will be screened at the Schauspielhaus.
