K.I. – Kasperl interveniert

by and with: Andreas Pfaffenberger [Berlin]
Anarchic-wild Kasperl show in German
45 minutes

Is an artificial intelligence really »intelligent«?
Can a machine, a non-living thing, develop a consciousness? Or will it always consist of our own projection?
Can an ‘artificially’ created thing think for itself? Be creative? Or imaginative?
And most importantly: how does all of this happen?

A talk about AI escalates as someone, who no one was expecting, suddenly tunes in: Punch a.k.a. Kasperl, the puppet. Similarly to a chatbot, Punch doesn’t really live, but nevertheless we’re willing to treat it as a living being. Both don’t care if what they are ‘saying’ is correct or wrong, truth or lie. For a chatbot, such specific human traits don’t matter, it’s only ‘job’ is to deliver output. And in such matters Punch itself is a master - anarchic, wild, not caring about ‘casualties’.

Regardless of whether it's Kasperl or artificial intelligence, it's up to us what we do with the content we're confronted with.
