Ein Flanellnachthemd
von Leonora Carrington [Augsburg/Ingolstadt]
Augmented Reality Theatre Miniatures in German
individual duration
Nud, a young man, tries with very little success to buy a flannel nightgown from Dwyn, all whilst a three-handed shadow figure sets the kitchen table on fire. In the company of a swan-dressed being the child Arawn throws arrows at a dress form situated on the floor above, and in the loft room a real black swan weighs itself in the rhythm of the kitchen clock. Simultaneously a ghostly party is meeting in the basement - all dressed in flannel night gowns…
In her surrealist one-act play "A Flannel Nightgown", Leonora Carrington describes enigmatic miniatures that take place simultaneously in different rooms of a house. Following a strict inner logic, Carrington conjures up magical, dark images in which the boundary between reality and nightmare is distorted, allowing the almost infinite possibilities of a subjective world of experience to unfold.
Leonora Carrington’s surreal one-act play »Ein Flanelnachthemd«, a collaboration between the Augsburg State Theater and Ingolstadt State Theater, stages for the first time a production which is completely based in augmented reality. Audience members are invited to enter Carrington’s virtual window to explore her surreal world. To enter this world, everyone will have to use their smartphones and scan the QR codes on the large scale Prints exhibited in front of them.
