Media guerrilla Total Refusal present \u00bbSons and True Sons\u00ab, a live gaming lecture exploring the connections between toxic masculinity, meritocracy and the storming of the US Capitol in 2021. \u00bbSons and True Sons\u00ab sheds light on how narratives of the video game \u00bbTom Clancy's: The Division 2\u00ab anticipated the events of January 6, 2021.<\/div>\n

Total Refusal explore parallels between the game's virtual narrative and actual anti-democratic groups. Inspired by these uncanny similarities, they storm the Capitol in Washington D.C. with their live gaming lecture. They playfully explore hyper-masculine self-empowerment inside and outside of gaming spaces and the narrative decay of liberal democracy.<\/div>\n
